Every moving element within a wind turbine, from the rotors to the nacelle alignment, requires constant and efficient lubrication. The pressure of the lubricant is continuously monitored using sensors or pressure switches, also keeping an eye on the fill level and lubricant temperature. Elementary functions such as blade adjustment, nacelle alignment to the wind, and safety mechanisms, including the disc brake and maintenance bolts, are based on a hydraulic drive supplied by a hydraulic unit.

Despite the often low temperatures at the top of the wind turbine, the heat generated by components such as the generator and power electronics requires a climate control system. We provide suitable sensors for room temperature measurement and support the operation of cooling systems.

For fire protection, gas extinguishing systems are used, the functionality of which is ensured by pressure gauges or pressure switches. These monitor the pressure in the gas cylinders and signal critical pressure changes. Due to the modular construction of the wind turbines and the associated numerous screw connections that could loosen due to strong vibrations, special bolt force sensors have been developed. These are mounted between the screw head and the washer and monitor the bolt preload.

The rotor blades experience tremendous mechanical stress. Changes in material can be detected early using strain sensors, contributing to maintenance efficiency and long-term operational safety of the facilities.
